Eric Walters @ Orangeville Public Library
Canadian children's author Eric Walters really knows how to connect with kids. He has written and published more than seventy novels which have been well received by children and young adults, earning him the critical acclaimed of teachers, reviewers and parents alike.
Mr. Walters will be at the Mill Street Library on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 for a series of presentations to some very lucky school groups, and to the public.
His presentations are very multi-media, combining drama, story and audience participation, are specifically designed to promote aspects of the writing process, and are grade specific:
- 10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. (Grade 8 and under)
- 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. (Grade 9 -12)
- 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Grade 8 and under)
Eric's novels have won more than 80 awards including eleven separate children's choice awards. He is the only three time winner of both the Ontario Library Association Silver Birch and Red Maple Awards - in which over 125,000 students participate and vote for the winners.
While remaining one of the best-selling children's authors in the country, Eric's novels are now available in places as far away as New Zealand and Australia and have been translated into more than 10 different languages.
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome. Presentations are grade specific. Large groups are asked to please call ahead: 519-941-0610.
