Accessing the Library & Library Services
To provide a barrier free environment, the Orangeville Public Library has equipped both the Mill Street Library and the Alder Street Branch facilities with:
- Accessible shelving and aisle widths
- Automatic door openers
- BrowseAloud Software on public computer workstations and website for speech enablement
- Elevator/lift access to all levels
- Fire alarm with strobe-light equipment for the hearing impaired
- Flush curbs
- Large print high contrast keyboards on public computer workstations
- Reserved wheelchair parking
- Staff available to assist handling and locating library materials
- TTY phone access (Mill St. TTY 519-942-0517 / Alder St. TTY 519-943-0838)
- Wheelchair accessible Internet workstations
The Orangeville Public Library's collection is designed to be accessible to and to meet the needs of the community. It includes both adult and junior fiction and non-fiction titles, in the following formats:
- Audiobooks on CD
- Children's Book and CD kits
- Closed caption DVDs
- DAISY reader and audio discs
- Downloadable audiobooks and eBooks
- French language material
- Large print
- Regular print
To further enhance accessibility to the collection, the library offers:
- Online Catalogue
- Interlibrary loan service
- Website accessibility
